Incident Data & Call Volume
Protecting Our Community, One Call at a Time
Every call to the fire department represents a moment when someone in our community needs help—whether it's a fire emergency, a medical crisis, a hazardous materials situation, or a public safety concern. Understanding our incident and call volumes helps paint a clear picture of the vital role our department plays every day.
What These Numbers Mean
- EMS Dominates the Call Volume: As in many departments nationwide, the majority of our calls are for emergency medical services. Our firefighters are cross-trained as paramedics, AEMTs and EMTs, ensuring rapid, skilled care.
- Fire Calls Still Matter: While fewer in number, fire-related incidents require significant resources and rapid response to protect lives and property.
- False Alarms & Good Intent Calls: These include smoke detector activations, mistaken reports, and well-meaning calls that turn out to be non-emergencies. Each one is treated seriously until confirmed otherwise.
Trends & Insights
Over the past five years, we've seen a steady increase in total call volume—driven by population growth, aging infrastructure, and increased public awareness. This growth underscores the importance of continued investment in staffing, training, and equipment.
Why It Matters
Every number tells a story. Behind each call is a person, a family, or a business relying on us. Our mission is to respond quickly, act professionally, and serve compassionately—24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
